Madison's expertise in corporate governance measures, drafting new bylaws, governance protocols, diversity, and equity initiatives, and conducting compliance assessments of ethics, privacy, and SEC regulations helped a medium-sized enterprise spearhead a successful communications strategy to key stakeholders, including investors, board members, advisors, regulators, public interest groups, and consumers. At Fagen Friendman & Fulfrost, LLP, Madison worked as an Associate Attorney in the Business, Facilities, Real Estate, Construction & Energy team, where she prepared legal memorandums and opinions, reviewed and analyzed contracts, and collaborated with partner attorneys to develop and execute legal strategies for various e-matters related to privacy and intellectual property.
Additionally, Madison provides guidance and strategic consultation to clients on trademark usage, registration, application processes, and cease and desists, conducts comprehensive legal research and contract analysis related to internet, intellectual property, media, and technology law, and advises clients on complex copyright issues, including fair use, Creative Commons, and openly licensed content, providing strategic counsel balancing legal requirements with business needs.
Madison's educational background includes a Juris Doctor with a Business Focus from California Western School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Whittier College. She received academic honors and awards such as the American Jurisprudence Award: Practical Lawyer Skills & Professional Responsibility Training and Outstanding Graduate in International Business. Her certifications in Sustainable Capitalism & ESG from U.C. Berkeley Law Executive Education, Product Management Immersive from General Assembly, and Master Composter from Solana Center for Environmental Innovation equip her with a keen understanding of the importance of sustainability and environmental responsibility in the legal field.
In addition to her legal work, Madison is actively involved in the community as a Volunteer Attorney for the Sustainable Economies Law Center, Co-Chair of the ESG Committee for the California Lawyers Association, and Volunteer for Sustainable Brands.
